ABOUT
My name is Kara le Roux. I am 22 years old, and I was born and raised in Bellville. I just completed my B.Ed. SPFET degree in 2025 at CPUT Wellington. I am a very passionate person, and I love to help people learn and grow; therefore, I am extremely excited to grow with RAL Academy as the new Afrikaans teacher!
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
I matriculated in 2021.I completed my 4-year B.Ed. SPFET degree in 2025. I am doing my B.Ed. Honours in Teaching and Learning this year – specialising in Afrikaans Home Language. Other than my formal education, I worked as a waitress for 5 years, and I also coach hockey at Durbanville High School.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that a teacher should be more than just an educator. You must be a role model and help the learner grow academically, mentally, and spiritually. Prepare them for the world and help them to become the best version of themself. This is possible to achieve through a positive and safe learning environment and implementing student-centered spaces with hands-on learning and critical thinking. Guiding, fostering student independence, building relationships, and preparing students for life beyond academics are my main goals as a teacher.
FUN FACT
I have never been overseas. I did HipHop and Modern dance for 11 years and achieved WP colours for HipHop dance. I ask stupid questions because I question everything.
