ABOUT
Hello and welcome!
My name is Miss Dane’ Kilian, and I am excited to be part of your learning journey this year.
Teaching is something I genuinely enjoy because it gives me the opportunity to see learners
develop not only academically but also personally. There is nothing more rewarding than
watching a learner gain confidence, overcome challenges, and discover their potential.
I enjoy finding different ways to make learning engaging and meaningful. Every child is unique,
and I believe that each learner deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment where they
feel supported and valued.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Industrial Psychology and Labour Relations. After
completing my degree, I obtained my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)
certification and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
During my postgraduate studies, I also studied South African Sign Language, which broadened
my understanding of communication and inclusivity within the classroom.
Over the past four years, I have gained teaching experience at a micro-class tutoring school
where I worked with learners across different grades and academic levels. This experience
taught me how to adapt my teaching methods to suit the individual needs of learners and how to
support learners with different learning abilities.
TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I believe that learners learn best when they feel safe, respected and supported. Positive and
welcoming classroom environment allows learners to take risks, ask questions and develop
confidence where mistakes are viewed as stepping stones.
Every learner enters the classroom with different experiences, strengths and challenges. My
goal is to create a learning environment where each learner feels valued and where they are
encouraged to reach their full potential. I strive to build positive relationships with my learners
and to support them through both their successes and challenges.
FUN FACT
– I love drawing and sketching animals in my free time.
– I enjoy watching documentaries and trying to solve the mystery before the end of the series.
