Class Motto:

Success is earned, not given.

ABOUT

My name is Sydney, or you can call me ‘Syd’ for short. I am a proud former RAL Academy student. Being a part of RAL Academy helped spark my love and passion for teaching children, as well as helping them grow and feel loved and cared for. Ever since I was little, I would entertain myself by pretending to be a teacher and know I can make it a reality, all because the teachers saw the potential in me, which led to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of becoming an assistant teacher this year.

I was born and bred in Cape Town, plan to move to the Netherlands for a few years, but ultimately come back to my hometown. As long as I’m here, my goal is to change children’s lives in the best way possible and hopefully make them excited to go to school.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

I matriculated from RAL Academy last year. I am busy doing courses in interior designing, event planning and possibly expanding my qualifications in teaching.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Being a teacher is one of most important jobs, because they help create the future generation. Sometimes all it takes is one person/teacher to believe in you and guide you in this crazy world, I want to be that one person/teacher, because I want to change children’s future and lives through believing, encouraging and trusting in them no matter what.

FUN FACT

 – I love being in nature and doing arts and crafts

– I’m obsessed with the color blue, watching rugby (biggest Stormers supporter), Stitch from Lilo and Stitch, and animals.
