ABOUT

My name is Rehon Marais, and I am a dedicated teacher with six years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach English to Korean and Japanese students, which has helped me develop a strong appreciation for different cultures and teaching styles. I attended Durbanville schools from Grade 1 through to Grade 12, which played an important role in shaping who I am today. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about sports – especially football – and I enjoy staying active. In my spare time, I also like to unwind by playing video games, which helps me relax and recharge

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

In terms of my teaching and coaching experience, I hold a degree in Intermediate and Senior Phase teaching, which has equipped me with a strong foundation in curriculum planning and learner development. I also hold a TEFL certificate, enabling me to teach English to ESL learners effectively. Alongside my teaching career, I am actively involved in sports coaching as a Level 1 CSA cricket coach and a Level 2 rugby coach, allowing me to combine my passion for education with athlete development and teamwork.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My teaching philosophy is centered on being a motivated, engaging, and fun educator who creates a positive learning environment. I believe that learners perform best when lessons are both meaningful and enjoyable, so I strive to make my teaching entertaining while still maintaining clear structure and high expectations. By building strong relationships with my learners and keeping them actively involved, I aim to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning.
